Cow Tracks

Effective cow tracks are crucial to maximise grass utilisation. If grazing is an integral part of your dairy system, cow track quality needs to be high.

We are assessing some of the cow track options to compare cost effectiveness and practical use. MP & KM Golding have constructed three different tracks at Bridge Farm. They are:

Rubble based track
Rubble based track with cement mixed in
Concrete sleepers

The different track constructions will be tested for longevity under heavy use and cow preference to different surfaces.

Ongoing results are reported to members.
